McKays
Website &
enquiry information
Updated 28 October 2026
McKays is a trading name of Marcias Limited. Registered in Scotland, company number SC653353. Registered office: 51 Watt Road, Hillington, Glasgow G52 4RY. For questions about this website, an enquiry or the handling of information, email info@mckays.co.uk.
Sector guides and examples
The guides illustrate record categories, possible connections and questions to explore. They do not establish that a particular archive exists, belongs to its holder, is suitable for AI use or can be sold or licensed. They are not a formal valuation, legal opinion, insolvency opinion or professional clinical advice.
Search and the archive outline
Sector and business-type searches run within the page. The optional outline uses your answers to prepare an editable summary. It does not calculate a valuation or decide eligibility. Outline inputs stay in the page until you choose to include the resulting description in an enquiry and submit it. They are not saved in browser storage. Reloading or leaving the page may lose unsent work.
Sending an enquiry
Marcias Limited, trading as McKays, receives the name, email address, optional company name, brief archive description, optional approximate archive volume, record origin, your relationship to the records and whether personal information may be present that you choose to submit. We use these details to screen and respond to your enquiry. The personal-information question asks only yes, no or not sure, not for the underlying records. Screening is a first look, not an automated eligibility or valuation decision. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter.
Where this website offers an enquiry form, the form uses Formspree to process and store submissions and notify info@mckays.co.uk. Formspree uses US infrastructure; the free service keeps a dashboard submission history for 30 days. Copies delivered to our email inbox are separate and may remain after that dashboard history ends. See Formspree’s privacy policy for its processing and service information.
The website displays a confirmation only after the form service accepts the submission. That is not proof that Richard has read it. If an error or uncertain connection is reported, your text remains available; avoid repeated submissions and contact Richard directly if needed.
Please provide a non-confidential description only. No archive-upload facility is provided. Do not include underlying archive records, patient, customer, client, employee or other personal records, passwords, access codes or sensitive material.
Adviser introductions and free resources
Advisers should use their own contact details and obtain permission before making an introduction. The owner can use the direct enquiry link instead. Do not put third-party contact details, client archives or confidential matter information into the description. Downloading a guide does not submit an enquiry or subscribe anyone to marketing.
Business outreach to insolvency practitioners and business brokers
Who we are. McKays is a trading name of Marcias Limited, a company registered in Scotland (SC653353), 51 Watt Road, Hillington, Glasgow G52 4RY. We are the controller of the personal data described in this section. Contact: info@mckays.co.uk.
What we do. We contact insolvency practitioners, administrators and business brokers. We ask whether owners of records from companies in insolvency, being sold or closing want to explore a possible return from an agreed sale or licence.
Where we get contact details. We use only publicly available business contact details. These come from The Gazette, Companies House, insolvency notices, professional directories, business-for-sale listings, and firms' own websites.
What we hold. Your name, job title, business email address and phone number, firm, and the case or listing reference we wrote about. We also keep a record of our emails to you and your replies.
Lawful basis. We rely on legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Our interest is exploring lawful opportunities for owners of business records, subject to suitability, rights and agreed terms. Before relying on it, we considered your interests. We contact people only in their professional role, about matters within that role, and we make it easy to opt out. Our emails go to corporate subscribers, including named employees at their work address, as the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) allow. Every email tells you who we are and how to opt out.
How long we keep it. Up to 24 months from our last contact, or until you opt out, whichever is sooner. If you opt out, we keep only your email address and firm on a suppression list, so that we never contact you again.
Opting out. Reply "unsubscribe" or "stop" to any email, or write to info@mckays.co.uk. We will add you to our suppression list promptly.
Sharing. We do not sell your details. Our email and hosting providers process them on our behalf.
Your rights. You can ask for access to your data, or for it to be corrected or erased. You can also object to processing or ask us to restrict it. Contact info@mckays.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint (0303 123 1113).
Website hosting
The website is hosted with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Sites. Hosting and delivery services may process technical information needed to serve and protect the site, such as IP addresses, browser information and security logs. Browser-only search does not mean that hosting services collect no technical information.
Optional analytics is controlled separately from necessary hosting and security services.
Optional analytics and your choice
Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics. Rejecting keeps optional analytics off.
We load Google Analytics only after you accept it. Rejecting does not stop you using this website or contacting us. Necessary hosting, delivery and security services continue to operate, including their technical logs.
With your permission, analytics measures page visits and limited website interactions. We use fixed page information without search queries or URL fragments. We do not send your name, email address, organisation, enquiry text, form answers or the contents of email-draft links to Analytics. Analytics is not a record of the contents of your enquiry.
A successful enquiry event is counted only when Formspree confirms that it accepted the submission. This does not establish email delivery, that Richard has read it, or that the enquiry is suitable.
Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn tags require separate advertising consent. Advertising storage and advertising user data are enabled only with advertising consent; Google ad personalisation remains disabled. We do not use enhanced conversions or upload contact details to Analytics.
Your privacy choice is stored on this website in your browser for up to six months. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by the property identifier. Our code sets a maximum cookie lifetime of six months; your browser may apply a shorter limit. Google processes the analytics information and may process it outside the UK. See Google’s privacy policy. Our Google Analytics property retains user-level and event-level data for two months, without restarting that retention period when you return. This setting does not limit how long Google retains standard aggregated reports. Optional Google data sharing, Google Signals, user-provided data collection, granular location and device collection, and advertising personalisation are switched off.
Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawing analytics consent stops new measurement and reloads the page into a no-analytics state, so save any unfinished enquiry first. It also removes the relevant first-party analytics cookies where the browser permits. This does not erase information already sent to Google. We do not replay interactions that happened before you consented.
A detailed review is a separate step
An initial enquiry does not authorise McKays to access, transfer, sell or license an archive. Any detailed review requires a separate discussion of authority, confidentiality, personal information, third-party rights, access, permitted recipients and uses, preparation responsibilities and commercial arrangements.
Clinical, financial, legal, employment, children’s and identifiable recorded material may require specialist review and may be unsuitable. Removing names is not in itself proof of anonymity or lawful reuse. No anonymisation or redaction service is promised by this website.
Named services and information outside the UK
OpenAI’s ChatGPT Sites hosts this website. Formspree processes and stores submissions from the enquiry forms. Google Analytics processes optional analytics information only after consent, as described above. Enquiries sent by email are handled separately from the website and form-service dashboard.
Information processed by these services may be handled outside the UK. Published provider terms explain their processing and the international-transfer safeguards available for relevant services. See OpenAI’s data-processing addendum, Formspree’s privacy information and Google’s Ads Data Processing Terms for services including Google Analytics. Contact info@mckays.co.uk for information about the arrangements that apply to your enquiry. These links do not mean that all information stays in the UK.
Marcias Limited’s ICO registration reference is ZB473702. Registration is not an endorsement or approval of a proposed use of business records.
Questions about your information
Contact info@mckays.co.uk to ask about an enquiry or request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent. Handling of the underlying archive should be discussed before any records are shared.
Optional advertising measurement
With advertising consent, Google Ads measures accepted enquiries, Meta measures page visits and views of the archive-assessment page, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag measures page visits for LinkedIn advertising and may set LinkedIn cookies such as li_sugr, bcookie, lidc and UserMatchHistory. Analytics and advertising are separate choices in Cookie settings. Both are off until accepted. Our tags do not send enquiry text, names or email addresses. Third-party measurement services process technical information such as network and browser details under their own terms. You can withdraw consent in Cookie settings; the page reloads to stop loaded tags.
Google: privacy information. Meta: privacy information. An accepted enquiry creates a short-lived browser-session receipt to prevent duplicate conversion events. Reloading or opening the thank-you page directly does not create another enquiry conversion.
